DESCRIPTION: Subhorizontal (< 30 degrees) burrows with reniform (bilobate) cross-section; straight to gently sinusoidal. Burrow walls and floors often covered with longitudinal to inclined scratch marks. Width to height ratio > 1.5.

BEHAVIOR(S): Domichnia

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Continental terrestrial environments. Indicate a well-drained vadose (unsaturated) zone in soil.

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Dwelling burrows of a therapsid (mammal-like reptile) or reptile.

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Triassic to Cretaceous

REMARKS: Burrows may potentially be found in the Permian, associated with the range of therapsids. This burrow morphology may be produced by other vertebrates, such as reptiles.
