DESCRIPTION: Simple horizontal to sub-vertical burrows that contain concave-forward hemispherical structures. Nenoxites is the oldest meniscate trace fossil.

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Fully marine, low-energy distal shelf

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Earliest triploblastic metazoa such as Kimberella and other bilaterians

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Ediacaran
