DESCRIPTION: Trace is composed of two parallel rows of bow-shaped appendage impressions that are transversely or obliquely arranged.

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Marginal marine and freshwater environments

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Arthropods; eurypterids or phyllopods; may be produced by the same organism as Isopodichnus

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Cambrian-Triassic

REMARKS: Description from Hantzschel (1975) and Davies (2006). Pickerill (1994) suggested that Merostomichnites be used as a junior synonym of Diplichnites.
