DESCRIPTION: Plugs (fillings of tubes) shaped like test tubes, rounded at lower end, not pointed,walls smooth, preserved in groups in convex hyporelief oriented perpendicular to bedding plane.

BEHAVIOR(S): Dwelling

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Marine to continental, including alluvial, floodplains, lacustrine and eolian.

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Invertebrates (marine). Cicadas, beetles, sand wasps (continental).

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Devonian-recent.

REMARKS: Digitichnus (Ekdale and Picard, 1985; Ekdale, et al., 2007) and Pustulichnus (Ekdale & Picard, 1985) are assigned to Cylindrichum.
