DESCRIPTION: Star-shaped trace with 3–7 rays or lobes radiating outward from a vertical, central tube. Trace tapers in thickness near outer edge on all sides.

BEHAVIOR(S): Feeding (fodinichnia) or possible dwelling (domichnia).

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Marine; protected embayment, lower shoreface to shelf

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Worm, vermiform animal, starfish, or crustacean

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Carboniferous; Pennsylvanian
